Day of hard work...

Today must have been the longest and hardest day of them all!!!!! Most of us slept in (well all of us if 7:30 counts as sleeping in). VBS was very fun today!!! The painters finished the service project finally!!!!! The rest of us helped prep for VBS. Supper was left overs (but it was still very yummy)!!!! The leaders went to bigstone reserve. The crew leaders were very sad that they couldn't go to the reserve to say goodbye to the kids there, because they had to stay behind to watch The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe with the Laronge VBS kids. Most of the Pre-K kids didn't understand but they still watched. Tomorrow is our last day.. But its going to be the best!!!! Or are we doomed. Tomorrow happens to be Friday the 13th!?! Pray all goes well.

Day 2 : God's Word is Comforting.

Hello ! We've had a very busy day up here today. In addition to our morning VBS program we have also taken on a painting project at one of the local mission centres in La Ronge. The centre's home had Peto Pink walls that really needed a coat of paint but they lacked the man power to get the job done. We divided our team in two and had seven youth down to prep, clean and put on a coat of primer. Wed and Thur will see us put on some top coats. They were not at all intimidated by the fact that our crew are not professional painters - there was great joy to see the pink fading away. Already they are remarking that their room looks larger. They server meals to local homeless folks, provide a place for a shower - connect them with local agencies who can help them. The LampWick store is right upstairs and the food bank is in the same building. It's a wonderful opportunity for our kids to help out.

On the reserve today the youth in that team had a great time playing with the kids and sharing songs and our Bible story and them of the day - God's word is Comforting. Yesterday we had to round up youngsters and coax them to join us --- today they ran after the Van as it arrived. We were a bit late leaving because our gang was have so much fun playing games and the kids are just so happy to have our team there. I am thrilled to say that even though our gang was tired from a busy morning - they seemed to recharge during their break in the afternoon and worked hard!

Thanks for all your Prayers
-Tom

Sunday .... a time to Prep, a time to Beach, a time to bond!

This morning we ate a delicious meal of pancakes, blueberries, bacon and juice. Then we headed over to the Lutheran church and participated in the service. After lunch we drove to the beach where people mainly played at the park. However a few of us dared to brave the cold water. We went back to the church and in about an hour five minor injuries occurred. Before we had supper we prepared for tomorrows VBS, nailing wood, practing plays, setting up the stage, etc. Finally, after we finished devotions we came back to the church and are playing board games and hanging out before bed time.
